Axor Massaud / Single-lever basin mixer for wash bowls

Axor Massaud

Discipline: Product

Ritual sculpture
The products of the Axor Massaud collection embody the vision of the designer, to bring form back into our emotions while adding a new sensibility to our living area. Accordingly the design development of the single-lever mixer is based on the idea of the bathroom as a living landscape in which the natural and symbiotic relationship between man and water can be realised. Massaud regards the fitting as a “heavenly array” offering a precious gift of nature. Indeed, the mixer – a stemlike, slender corpus almost 400 mm wide that sprouts in a slight curve – is crowned by an asymmetrically placed, generous tray for all kinds of accessories. From here water pours in a wide stream into the basin. With its balanced blend of organic and sharp-edged forms, the mixer reclaims the simplicity and beauty of the natural world, giving it the grace of a de-technified sculpture.
