Between 2011 and 2014, SOL and Navdanya implemented the project Seeds of Hope to empower farmers communities in 13 villages of the Dehradun Valley, in the state of Uttarakhand, India: together they developed a first model of a replicable project. The project promotes agro-ecology and conservation of local seeds to help small farmers facing climate change. Based on the successes of the first phase, in 2015, the project was expanded in 16 new villages of Dehradun district and in 2016 to 40 new villages in 3 states: Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh.
