Discipline: Communication

if(kakao) is a developer conference held by the Kakao Corp, the leading mobile platform in Korea. To make the conference unique, the company defined the event's principles as: “be easy and flexible” and “be witty and friendly.” The conference brand name tells many stories, so the logo and graphics were created to tell stories open up to various interpretations and that stir the imagination. Inspired by programming languages, the designers used the "( )" symbol as a key graphic motif to develop a flexible system. In an effort to stimulate interest and curiosity, the visual identity uses humor and openness to depict developer geek metaphors, characters representing Kakao, and everyday objects.
