Koenig & Bauer tasked design agency MUTABOR to develop a completely new corporate identity, including a typeface that was both relatable and expressed the company's innovative engineering approach. The new font is based on the Rational font family which combines friendly, humanistic shapes with geometric forms and engineering precision. The approachable style emphasizes what is essential for a corporation made up of humans and machines: clarity of communication. The anniversary box set comprises two books and 13 posters that presents Koenig & Bauer’s themes of “People,” “Machines,” and “Ideas.” The set also showcases the power of typography and how it can significantly shape a brand's public image.
