Mata / Product design for children water safety

Mata
Mata

Nowadays, fewer children learn how to swim at school due to a growing shortage of lifeguards. Mata is designed to solve this problem and serve as a “safe friend” that can accompany the children, and efficiently save those who run into aquatic distress in pools. It has a waterproof camera and uses machine-learning technology to track people in the water. As soon as Mata detects an active potential drowning victim, it will send an alert through the app and, at the same time, the alarm inside the casing will go off. Once the victim is located, Mata will propel itself to the individual and then release an inflated buoy for rescue.
