Abundant Water in Lao PDR / Low-Cost Ceramic Water Filters

Abundant Water has been operating in Lao PDR since 2009, producing and distributing over 4000 low-cost ceramic water filters providing over 25,000 people access to clean drinking water. The Abundant Water filter is a low-cost technology designed using local pottery techniques with modern modifications that brings immediate benefits to users. AW’s most recent project distributed 1590 filters to rural communities and schools in Saimsombon Province, Lao PDR, directly supporting SDG 6 in improving access to clean water, while also improving health (SDG 3), gender equality (SDG 5), and locally-made responsible production and consumption (SDG 12).
