CIRRUS

Open shelf

doppler und saner GmbH innenarchitektur und produkte

A tube made of bi-elastic fabric is slipped over a two-part steel pipe frame and zipped close. One part of the skeleton after the other is shoved into the covering. The structure is mapped on the double-layered fabric and projected to the outside. The boards glide into openings punched into the steel frame and snap in. The tension exerted by the fabric lends the shelf its stability. Flowing and airy the covering made of translucent stretch fabric clings to the supporting structure of the open shelf which is blending smoothly into the living area. CIRRUS, a cross between a mere object of utility and a sculpture, may be propped up against a wall or can stand on its own anywhere in the room.
