In Ghana, due to the inadequacy of public resources to provide schools for all, private actors have built Low Cost Private Schools (LCPSs) to fill the access gap to classroom education. These LCPSs use a cash and carry fees payment system. The payment system militates against this intervention, affecting quality education delivery badly. ‘Edupay’, is an affordable education financing scheme that aims at increasing the school fees payability of poor parents so as to enhance the financial resources of LCPSs to contribute towards making quality education financially self-sustaining and reduce tuition fees related absenteeism.
