UBECI / Reduce the working hours of street children

UBECI is an NGO (est. 1999) in Quito that works for a better future for street children in Ecuador. Many children in Ecuador live in poverty and many work for 10+ hours everyday in markets rather than attend school. We reduce the working hours of over 600 children and develop socio-affective, cognitive, and motor skills to break the cycle of poverty. Our permanent staff works with parents to stress the need for education and enroll children in school. We hold several campaigns every year to provide school supplies, dental care, etc. Our next step is to establish UBECI Clubhouse: a permanent facility to provide stability for the children.
