In order to reverse the stereotypical image of park play and enhance the play equipment industry in Taiwan, the Department of Cultural Affairs of the Taipei City Government has been working with young designers to research and develop new play equipment. The planning and manufacture took place from 2017 to 2018 and resulted in five neighborhood parks being turned into inclusive playgrounds, with play equipment 100% Made in Taiwan, from design and production to manufacture and installation.
