With their capacity to reach 4 to 5 cm under the skin, ultrasound waves are widely used in the fields of rehabilitation and sports medicine to relieve pain by warming and promote healing of damaged areas, among other uses. The device incorporates a touch panel and keyboard suitable for typing (compatible with 10 languages) for dramatically improved usability. To select a desired program, simply touch the patients name or name of the condition. As audible signals, the device incorporates key-touch tones and three process-complete melodies to make treatment as pleasant as possible for both therapist and patient. Much device design effort was spent on maximizing usability through improvements in the touch-panel graphical interface. The physical product design integrates the two therapeutic probe holders into the design of the main unit, creating clean, sophisticated lines that radiate quality.
