The german term “kumpel” has two meanings:

(1) Stemming from the mining industry it refers to the miners
working underground in dark shafts underground equipped
with headlamps.
(2) “Kumpel” also means “buddy” and is characterized by his
reliability.

The night light kumpel serves as a reactive temporary light,
providing orientation in corridors and staircases. The concrete part carries technical components, the glass parts serves as a luminous body. Due to the free form glassblowing process, a group of kumpel built a likeable bunch of individual figures.
