One of the major risks in underground mining is the accumulation of hazardous gases, like explosive methane and toxic carbon monoxide. There are stationary and handy gas sensors to prevent accumulation but both remain incapable of being flexible and efficient in big facilities. Consequently, many people still die due to gas-related accidents in underground mines.
Detectrone is a drone designed for the safety of underground mines. It detects various gases, directs people in case of emergencies, and maps the tunnels in 3D. Due to its mobility, Detectrone can monitor hazardous gases over a wide area, and communicate with other drones to work efficiently.
