Hundredthousand tons of plastictrash float in the oceans and endanger complete ecosystems. 80% of the plastic is led from the countries across the rivers to the oceans where the trash is hardly collectable or not at all. This creates one oft he biggest environmentally trouble of our time.
To save our oceans the Garbage buoy could be positioned in rivers and river mouths to pick up the floating trash before it reaches the oceans. The buoy provides a self-sufficent system: a pump system soaks the plastic trash into a collecting basket which will be picked up by a drone, emptied at a collection point and be led back to the buoy afterwards.
