Along with the State of Michigan, Civilla launched Project Re:form to deliver a faster, simpler and more humane application for public benefits. The current application is the longest in America and is both a formidable barrier for 2.5 million residents and a major inefficiency in cities across the state. After an intensive two-year design process, the newly designed form (slotted for rollout in 2018) reveals what government services can look like when they’re human-centered from the inside-out. We believe this work—focused on a mundane yet central touchpoint—can cascade across state lines and improve government services for all Americans.
