The IGNIS project is initiated from the idea of a firefighter in Korea. He recognized some problems finding fire points and people who need to be rescued in the darkness. A thermal imaging camera is necessary to solve these problems. However, the conventional thermal imaging cameras were too big and heavy to use.
The team IGNIS developed a new type of thermal imaging camera which the requirements and feedback of the firefighters were reflected in. Through the IGNIS project, we could have donated 1,000 new thermal imaging cameras to the firefighters in Korea for commemoration of the firefighting day(9th Nov).
