Chindi / Recycling textile waste

Chindi [which means "scrap in Hindi] recycles textile waste into accessories handmade by low-income craftspeople in India.

The fashion industry is globally the second most polluting industry after oil. In Mumbai alone, 5% of landfill waste is textile scrap from fashion houses, garment manufacturing units and factories. We provide livelihoods to craftspeople living in and around the Deonar landfill to save the burden on the planet and improve their quality of life.
