CARL / Home security robot

CARL is a concept that explores functionality and aesthetics for home robots. CARL guards your home while you are not there. He detects intruders, gas leaks, heat or water damage and strange sounds, and notifies you instantly so you can react. You can also operate him by remote control to look around your house while you are on the move. CARL blends into a home environment perfectly; his simple, yet emotional appearance feels more like furniture – a balanced combination of a fabric-covered body with smart details. He drives around on a ball using state-of-the-art ballbot technology. This makes his movements much more elegant and helps him to overcome obstacles.
