Rain of Dharma Truth is the design scheme for the tearoom of Qixia Temple, one of the most famous Buddhist temples in China. It represents the designer’s exploration of the relationship between spirit and space. The inspiration stems from the words “rain of dharma truth” written in the Saddharma Puṇḍarīka Sūtra (Lotus Sutra), which implies that Buddha dharma (the teachings of the Buddha) gives relief to all mortal beings just as the rain sustains everything on earth. This design uses beads placed at different heights separating the space to represent rain drops.
