Discipline: Interior Architecture

Office design usually emphasizes practicality. But, does rational spatial design really improve work efficiency? Humans need emotional and aesthetic stimulation. Birds, insects, and other animals are attracted to flowers because of their color and scent, and this attraction is in the interest of the flower as the animals spread the pollen. The pursuit of beauty therefore has a biological and evolutionary purpose! One of the ways in which beauty (emotional elements) is perceived is through neurochemicals that infiltrate specific brain regions. These change our parameters of thinking, correct our perception, and affect our decision-making and behavior. On this basis, it makes good business sense to design an office that appeals to the senses.
