Kinmen Kaoliang Liquor Inc.

The signature motif for this bottle of Kaoliang liquor is a horse's saddle, which references the traditional saddle roofs of Kinmen island, located off the south-east coast of China (administered by Taiwan). The bottle, though made of glass, follows the traditional form of ceramic wine bottles, a design that dates back to the Jin Dynasty (265–420 CE). The designers chose double-layered glass for the bottle, which resembles a cross-section of a mortar shell. The wooden cap is made from Kinmen driftwood, and the bottle also features a high-quality sheath of Kinmen leather. This enhances the reuse value of the bottle and completes the combination of natural local materials.
