Sliding Switch / Interior Project

Sliding Switch

Our objective was to design a space that allows the most efficient use of the given space. Sliding Switch was created involving a sliding mezzanine upon a railing system. The sliding mezzanine allows for two programs to be active at once, while allowing the occupant to remove the unnecessary program. Not only does the design maximize comfort and utility, it also allows privacy. The occupant can easily slide the mezzanine to hide the bedroom when visitors are present. Or hide the dining area after a wild party. We believe that being able to alter the programs allows the occupant to perceive his or her home much larger than it is.
