Lookcookbook translates the process of preparing a meal into a manual of signs. It has developed a simple, visual grammar of its own. An object (= sign for a given ingredient) is combined with a predicate (= sign for cutting, stir-frying etc.) to create a new object (= sign for meals). Lookcookbook uses a universal sign language that is easy to understand, a kind of visual kitchen Esperanto.
Lookcookbook is published on cardboard. The ten two-course meals serve eight people and can be prepared on a two-burner stovetop.
