Flow mucosal cooler / Medical mouth cooler

Flow mucosal cooler

Medical mouth cooling is a treatment for severe mouth sores, which are a common and painful side effect of chemotherapy. Although effective, the treatment is often used reluctantly by young patients because they are required to cool the inside of their mouths for several hours during chemotherapy.
Flow is a medical mouth cooler that rethinks the way children interact with MedTech products. Rather than requiring the patient to sit very still, Flow encourages interaction with a patient control that allows the child to make small adjustments and get updates on their cooling treatment on an intuitive, interesting light interface.

This design has been developed with close interaction and a deep understanding of patient needs. The user-centered design approach makes it original and easy to understand. The look and feel of the product fit into the medical environment well.
We've put a lot of heart into this project. Being awarded with the iF DESIGN TALENT AWARD 2017_02 is awesome!
