iF DESIGN TALENT AWARD_02 2017

Urinary tract infection (UTI) is the most common complaint in long-term care institutions, and it is prevalent in up to 50% of patients. Almost every elderly person under long-term care uses a long-term indwelling catheter. Due to their weak immune systems, they occasionally suffer from UTI. In serious cases, this can lead to septicemia, which can be fatal. That’s why we designed an IoT system that makes use of a medical cloud to compare white blood cell volumes in the urine. When the number of white blood cells reaches a level that requires medical attention, the system will alert the family and the healthcare facility.

Very easy, innovative system, helpful in preventive care, high value of usage, light, clinical design
