This porcelain shop and gallery is located in the Hasami district of Nagasaki, Japan. It displays and sells the world-famous Saikai porcelain. The key design question when working on this project was: ‘What can only be done with this client?’ The answer was a total revamp of the internal and external structure while staying true to the spirit of the artists working with Saikai porcelain.

An astoundingly clear design concept with a simple story: the production and display of ceramic products. The production process and the material itself play the central roles in the spatial experience. Floors, walls, light fittings use ceramics in differing forms and aggregates.
