Maetdol (= millstone) / Coffee maker

Maetdol (= millstone)
Maetdol (= millstone)

This is a coffee maker which uses the principle of millstone. It minimizes the destruction of nutrients. Also we can enjoy various coffee by adjusting the particle size of beans through the interval between runner and bed stone. It can maintain freshness of beans by grinding them and extracting coffee simultaneously. We described the image of millstone, using stone-textured plastic. You can use it by pushing the button. By pushing it, the handle will come out and the water will start to boil. The beans will grind into powder if you turn the handle. Then the boiled water and powder will be combined. Finally, it will dispense coffee through the filter.

This design interprets local cultural elements and continues classic methods by integrating the way a traditional millstone works.
Thank you to my peer, and I'm so glad to win the HAIER DESIGN PRIZE 2017 by iF. I'm so happy to introduce Korean traditional "Millstone" by our coffee machine.
