NEW-OLD VOICE / Home audio system

While in the area of Industrial Design, the western design has focused on functionality, the eastern design puts emphasis on process and connection. Despite the different aspects of Western and eastern design philosophy, vinyl records have a commonality in providing richer, warmer and clearer music experience. ‘New-old voice’ presents the connection between the past and digital technology and the different two philosophies. It has a built-in portable audio player, at the same time it leaves the tangible aspect of the vinyl records such as dropping the needle. The LP record-shaped display draws its rhythm, tempo in Chinese calligraphy.
