In Africa, many children do not own shoes and are plagued with chigoe flea. Chigoe flea can enter the human body and even threaten a person’s life, having a death rate as high as 60%. Re-Pulp Shoes recycle used paper boxes and turn them into paper pulp through a simple processing technique with water. The pulp is then put through Re-Pulp Shoes’ molds to produce thousands of recycled shoes. This invention enables every child to have a pair of shoes, putting an end to the problem of chigoe flea.
