This new type of welding helmet breaks with the traditional rectangular shutter display paradigm. It uses a display with a large nose cutout in order to bring the shutter closer to the eyes. This enlarges the field of view for the user drastically – by a factor of six compared to traditional 50 x 100 mm rectangular shutter displays. By moving the display closer to the head the weight distribution of the helmet is a lot better than traditional helmets, which reduces neck stress and fatigue.
