Yak Kong Doo Yu is a black bean milk drink domestically produced based on technology developed by Seoul National University. It is a functional drink that maximized the nutritional value of beans by using unpeeled black beans, which have been used as a drug in Oriental medicine for centuries. Pursuant to this, we designed the brand identity of Yak Kong Doo Yu based on a modern take of the typeface of Hunminjeongeum Haerye (The original manuscript of the Korean alphabet), which was published 600 years ago, and developed a simple logotype where Hangul (Korean alphabet) typography alone can remind consumers of the cute form of black beans.
