In the exhibition "In Fashion" the German Nationalmuseum presents its internationally significant clothing collection of the Early Modern Age. A spacious media installation shows scenes of a historic fashion show, which reveals massive conservation faux pas and introduces the visitor to the exhibition. Showcases shaped like dissecting tables illustrate the cautious handling of textiles nowadays. The laboriously restored clothes are shown from all sides in mirrored display windows. The contextualization of clothes and paintings makes fashion and people of the Renaissance and Early Baroque understandable.
