Reproduction of Sound / A book

Reproduction of Sound
Reproduction of Sound

“Reproduction of Sound” is a project on the visualisation method of sound. Starting with the observation that when people only see someone clapping their hands they automatically recall the clapping sound, this project visualises the associative relationship between sound and behaviour. The intention is to suggest a new visual expression for sound through a piece of paper – used as the physical medium. Thus a sound is reproduced and the behaviour causing that sound rendered in onomatopoeia before being transferred onto a sheet of paper. The result is dismantled and combined by the actions of cutting and folding.
