QR code blind sidewalk / Blind Sidewalk

QR code blind sidewalk

QR Code blind sidewalk system is a new innovative but low-tech and low-cost orientation solution for people with visual impairment. It includes two parts: 1. A blind stick with a camera and an earphone 2. QR code bricks or stickers. The camera on the blind stick scans the QR code on the ground automatically and the information will be transmitted to the earphone via Bluetooth. The information that contains in the QR code could be the location, a warning of coming situation ahead (Traffic light or down stairs). In cases of hospitals or airports, the QR code could also indicate the direction of the ward or the number of the boarding gate.
