Monika Lepschy / recycled salmon leather

Monika Lepschy
Monika Lepschy

My collection of shoes and accessories is divided into 3 sets. It contains in total 3 pairs of woman‘s shoes, shoulder bags, two hand bags and a belt. In my thesis I focused on creating my
own material in the form of hand-tanned, originally waste salmon leather by treating and processing it in a traditional way. I got the salmon leather in Makro department store as a waste material which can´t be useful anymore. The result is salmon leather that comes in different colours and
forms. Essentially the entire collection was inspired by the morphology of a live salmon itself and
therefore mergers organic shapes with elements of mainstream design
