For inexperienced users the pistol grip provides a lack of control and stability during screwing and drilling. Due to the relatively long distance between the bit head and the point of stabilization (the handle), the overall grip becomes unstable.
Since the line of applied force is also below the touch point for the bit, an unwanted rotation of the tool is easily created which in turn strains the wrist.
With Powell the forces becomes aligned and it enables a large force being applied without straining the wrist or losing the 90˚ angle through unwanted rotation. Thanks to its user friendly standing position it is also always easily accessible.
