MONO Shower Unit / Digital Shower Concept

MONO Shower Unit

HANSGROHE DESIGN PRIZE by iF

The MONO shower unit is designed to change the user’s awareness of water usage use while showering. A digital interface gives precise, real-time feedback, which sensitizes the user to the amount of water they use and allows them to adjust temperature or water volume in a new way.
Mono provides two different options of taking a shower: a hand-held shower head that is activated when it is moved around, and – when the hand-held unit is placed in its magnetic holder – the user can control a fixed main shower head. The same interface is used for both modes, resulting in a totally new way of interaction in the shower.

HANSGROHE DESIGN PRIZE by iF

MONO is not a central mixer in the traditional sense; on the contrary, the hand-held showerhead is at the same time a flexible operating and functional element – similar to a remote control unit. The clarity of the design had us convinced!
Jury Statement
When I received the message that I was one of the winners in the HANSGROHE DESIGN PRIZE 2016 by iF I was totally surprised and could not believe it. I was jumping around and I was really overwhelmed!
