Flip-flop / Flexible architecture

Flip-flop
Flip-flop

My project aims to incorporate the principles of foldability, stackability, and easy mobility and on-site assembly. Ultimately, it aspires to be flexible, in order to deal with environmental and social issues that plague agricultural towns (namely erosion and loss of tourism). The architecture ‘flip-flops’ to alternatively address these issues, in line with seasonal conditions. During the monsoons, it provides for a basin to collect and store water for use during the summer (and prevent runoff erosion). During the dryer months, it is transformed into a public dining experience, to attract and inform tourists, and boost the local economy.
