This public space recycling station is designed help citizens sort their waste correctly in public spaces. Recycling in public spaces is often cross contaminated because people become confused and place waste material in the wrong container. Through human centred research this design addresses peoples frame of mind while in public by making the graphic material as easy to engage with as possible. This is achieved through the orientation of the graphics towards the user as they are walking down the sidewalk. The service worker that empty’s the station is also considered in the design through the back section opening on an ergonomic angle.
