The Bobcat 25 snow shoes are a re-design of the competitive running snowshoe. After some research and simple mock-ups it was found that using an asymmetrical shape affords better clearance between the snowshoes and the opposing leg. Using lighter materials like carbon fiber also helps to reduce the weight of the snowshoes. Combine, these two features make a premium and desirable product for competitive snowshoe runners.
The carbon fiber frames are made by inflation bladder molding. This process is commonly used for tennis rackets, ski poles, hockey stick and other high end sports equipment. However, this is very new process for snowshoes
