The ruler is an everyday object that we are all familiar with, but is also one that can be made more versatile and user-friendly. ‘Infinity Rules’ was born out of re-imagining how a user interacts with the ruler design. By integrating two simple pivot mechanisms, the ruler can be quickly rotated 180° to extend its length. These two mechanisms are spring buttons that grip any flat surface when pushed down. The ruler markings are situated on both sides so that they line up when rotated. This simple design makes it possible to measure any distance and draw straight lines with ease.
