getting noticed is a main survival strategy in design especially in the area of print. attention, fascination, tension and surprise are results of an intentional typographical disturbance. the work is categorizing disturbances in a visual dictionary. reading is an unconscious memory process, so little attention is paid to it in daily life, which creates a high intensity reaction when disturbed. designer can generate attention by interrupting the information transfer. my work can be seen as a creative as well as a technical supporting source. besides the 70 visualisations it includes instructions for recreating typographical disturbances.
