Kvarn / salt and pepper mills

”Kvarn” means mill in Swedish, and with a minimalistic, not to say simple, outside, these salt and pepper mills have a design strongly based in the Scandinavian roots.

However, the design being made for a university course in advanced prototyping – the internal parts, with the grinding mechanism, are more complex than the outside suggests. The top part is detachable, allowing filling the product with pepper or salt.

Four different versions were made. While all variations feature 3D printed plastic bottom parts, the top parts are made in brass, aluminium, concrete and wood – all unique in it's character and appeal.
