yaw light / Lighting

yaw light
yaw light

Modern, minimal, and interactive, Yaw light adds ambiance to any space, comforting users returning home from harsh fluorescent workplace environments. Made of two square maple frames, a sandblasted acrylic inset, conductive rubber, copper tape -and LED strip lights, Yaw uses unconventional conductive materials to eliminate the need to run wires throughout the frame. Highlighting the conductive rubber’s elastic nature, we integrated the on and off “switch” into the form of the light itself by designing the LED circuit to be completed when the inner frame is turned 90 degrees and brings the copper tape into contact with the rubber.
