ORALITE, a semi-automatic device for dental hygiene, was created based on observations about the obstacles people with functional limitations have to encounter daily. The design consists of a small station and a durable individually 3D printed mouthpiece containing the key functional components. Following the insertion of the mouthpiece, the tooth cleaning process starts. It combines rinsing, ultrasound and a photodynamic process to dislodge debris and biofilms, kill harmful bacteria and restore a healthy oral flora. The user remains independent in his oral care. Furthermore, multitaskers benefit by having free hands for other tasks.
