Dovetail Stool / Stool and Chair

Dovetail Stool
Dovetail Stool

The tenon and mortise joint, which is also called the wood joint, is one of the most important part of classic Chinese furniture.
This stool is supported by wood joints, and contrary to other wooden furnitures, it consists of only one kind of wood joint, the dovetail joint. The stool can reach the force balance with the help of this simple but clever structure. It maximizes the function of dovetail joints.
Also, as dovetail joint is also called swallowtail joint, while swallow is a symbol of joy and happiness in China, so the style of the stool also refers to the pattern of swallow in Chinese drawings.
