Subtle, scandinavian elegance and a feeling of weightlessness were to be accomplished with the design of this light objetct. Measuring a diameter of 80 cm, the cold molded oak ring is 11 cm high and merely 22 mm thick. The precision-milled interior accomodates a sophisticated system of LED lightsources, reflectors and a heat molded plexiglass diffuser. Hotspots typical for LED lights could thereby be avoided. The result is a soft, homogeneous sphere of light inside the object. The wiring is completly invisible, with the power source being hidden in the ceiling mount and the suspension wires being also current-carrying.
