The Philippine government solution to the overcrowding of the cities is through the forced removal of informal settlers living on the fringes of the city and rehousing them far out in Laguna. The Nuno Home was inspired by Ancient Filipino spiritual beliefs of "Nuno sa Punso"( Ancestor in the Ant Hill) beings that lived in mounds that were showed respect to, similarly the informal residents should be treated with the same respect. Each home is made with low cost sustainable material native to the area and is fitted with solar panels which is perfect for the sunny and hot climate. They are easy to build and reflects the identity of the Filipinos.
