Soul Patrol for refugees

Discipline: Communication

Soul Patrol is a free online emergency counselling service, which can be run on home computers and smartphones. Professional counsellors and other volunteers donate a bit of their time to help. Volunteers will complete an online course to become a trained listener, enabling them to offer online counselling for traumatized refugees. With one simple click the website can be translated into any given language, thus making it usable by anyone. The counselling runs via chat, Skype and Teamspeak. In real-time chat everything written will be simultaneously translated into the chosen language. So everyone can communicate in their native tongue.

This project shows a coherent UI concept which focusses on contemporary problems of our society.
Jury Statement
WOW! It took a little bit till i finally realised that I'm truly one of the winners in the iF STUDENT DESIGN AWARD 2016, but after a couple of hours I was incredibly happy! I am truly honored and glad that my project has the chance to reach people all over the world. I hope it opens people's minds and helps to visualize the tough journey refugees have to master. I wanted to show that everyone of us is able to help, even if it is by simply donating a little bit of our time.
