When it comes to smart watches, there isn’t much screen real-estate. The simple act of checking a notification requires the user to cover a large part of the screen with their finger. That’s where the touch band comes in. The band moves the touch sensors to the band so the screen is never blocked. The band works as a 1 to 1 reference to the screen. Swipe left to right on the band and the watch will recognize it as a swipe across the screen, without inhibiting the display. Having the controls for the watch under the screen would allow for app developers to make more interactive apps with the added screen real-estate.
